Ford announced recently it will invest $2.5 billion to build and new engine and transmission plant in Mexico. i-MiEV

With no pun intended, Mitsubishi is readying itself to be strong in the world of electrically powered vehicles which may be a huge surprise. Because Mitsubishi offers a lineup that is similar to what Suzuki had to offer many may have thought the company would pull out of the US market and focus on its other markets due to declining sales, but instead Mitsubishi has found a way to soldier on and offer some great vehicles for us to enjoy in the States as it poises itself for its next great charge into the EV marketplace. Awesome Power and Looks

Cadillac ATS-V

What happens when you put a 3.6-liter V6 turbocharged engine inside a Cadillac ATS? It becomes the ATS-V model and brings 445 horsepower and 445 lb.-ft. of torque to the party to draw a great deal of attention. Now if this was the power offering for a heavy sports car this would most likely be the beginning model and not impress us at all, but the fact this nearly Corvette like power is seated firmly in the ATS making the ATS have enough power to compete easily with the BMW M3/M4. This awesome engine is mated to a six speed manual or the awesome eight-speed automatic transmission that is found in the Corvette. Read more

How Toyota is Helping the American Economy

Toyota Motor Manufacturing

Years ago having a foreign automaker build a plant and employ American workers would be unheard of. Honda may have been the firs to do so when they started their manufacturing process here in the U.S., but they certainly are not the last to do so. Many American automakers have found ways to branch out and partner with European companies along with having their assembly and manufacturing in other countries. Even though this has caused a huge uproar among the United Automobile Workers (UAW) union, the simple reality is having manufacturing and assembly done much closer to where the vehicles are going to be sold makes perfect sense.

Cooling to Heat Up

Magnus Walker

Which cooling system is best? Do you prefer your car air cooled or water cooled? Many car shoppers don’t even think about the distinction or difference and since a majority of us drive commuter cars to and from the workplace it really doesn’t matter until it’s time for a high powered sports car to get a treatment that will truly unleash its capabilities. Until this time, a majority of us are content to be quietly going about our lives mostly not knowing what makes our car go and how it could actually go much faster and offer more power.

On the flip side of this coin, there is a group that builds cars that are as unique as they get and offer a specific performance item, a special air cooling system. This group is SharkWerks and the main culprit is Magnus Walker who is well known for building air-cooled Porsches and putting them in vintage style Porsche bodies to both perform and look absolutely amazing. For some time now, Porsche has used a water filled cooling system for all its models and offered the standard and “legal” Porsche offerings that carry huge performance numbers for owners to take pleasure in.

1975 Dodge Power Wagon in the Winter

1975 Dodge Power Wagon in the Winter

There was a time when Dodge used to make trucks. Don’t get me wrong – Rams are still trucks, but technically speaking, they’re no longer made by Dodge. If you want to be truly technical, they’re made by Fiat. No matter. The DNA of the brand is still in there and that DNA is still strong.

Take a look at this short and stubby bit of awesomeness. It looks like the type of truck that makes you want to hop in the back, hold on to the chrome bars, and hope the driver doesn’t make the truck flip. So gorgeous.
