2017 Chrysler Pacifica: A New Minivan
Chrysler has done away with the Town & Country name and brought back the Pacifica. This used to be an SUV, but now it’s the most advanced minivan on the market and the perfect place for you to offer your family a great ride on any road. The Pacifica offers luxury styling and features that you tend to not find anywhere else in the market. This is the minivan that has the right stuff to be the partner with Google for self-driving technology, but until that becomes a reality you can certainly enjoy the wonderful driving capabilities of the Pacifica.
This new Pacifica gives you eight-passenger seating with the equipment you must have. As the replacement for the Town & Country this is a more fuel efficient model and one that offers more comfort and storage than the outgoing model ever had for you. Chrysler certainly chose this van to be the one that is made to lead the way in the minivan class and it has everything you could want in a minivan along with a smooth ride and a wonderful capacity to be the right vehicle for your entire family to enjoy.
Until we see the new plug-in hybrid version offered, which will come out in the fall of this year, the Pacifica has only one engine to offer you. This engine is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that has been lauded as one of the best in any van. You will experience 287 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque which is attached to a nine-speed automatic transmission which sends the power to the front wheels. This powertrain will also offer you good fuel mileage at 18 city/28 hwy mpg to be a leader in the minivan market for both power and fuel mileage, which are two aspects of driving every family wants to enjoy.
In order to be the leader we want to admire the Pacifica offers us a long list of standard features starting at the LX model. At this level we will have a rearview camera, active grill shutters, heated outside mirrors, seventeen-inch aluminum wheels, a tri-zone air conditioning system, active noise cancellation, a five-inch touch screen with the Uconnect system, a USB port, Bluetooth capabilities, keyless entry, push button starting and the Stow ‘n Go seating for added storage in the second row of seats, making this the most feature filled base model on the market.
Moving up to the optional features you see there are four additional trim levels; Touring, Touring-L, Touring-l Plus and Limited. These models will give you additional features such as power sliding doors, automatic climate controls, a larger infotainment screen, leather seating, chrome exterior trim, a twenty-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system, an Advanced SafetyTec group which brings in parking sensors, lane departure warnings, forward collision warnings, adaptive cruise controls, a surround view camera system and Uconnect Theater. You can turn your Pacifica into the minivan your family will love to have and want to ride in when it’s time to head out for the daily errands and on long vacation drives.
On the inside the Pacifica offers comfortable seating in all three rows to be large enough for adults to enjoy the ride no matter where they sit. In the rear the power liftgate will give access to a large cargo well that is deep and able to be filled with whatever items you feel need to come along on the journey. On the outside the Pacifica is attractive and familiar as it does resemble the outgoing Town & Country but has its own look as well. This is a great looking van and one that gives us the style we want.
The price you will pay for the Pacifica will start at the LX model at $29,500. The Touring is a step up and comes in at $31,500 while the Touring-L will begin at $35,400. Moving up to the next level you will enjoy the Touring-L Plus at a starting price of $39,000 and the Limited comes in around $43,500. A fully loaded Pacifica can reach over the $45,000 mark, but you will have all the options you want your family to enjoy.
