A Ford F-150 Raptor, Done Shelby Style
For serious truck power you might consider moving up from the F-150 to the Raptor version to gain some amazing performance and power improvements. A truck of this caliber offers the style of a rugged and rough outdoorsman along with the power to back up everything someone could throw its way. Why on earth would anyone want to go a step further? Because they can, that’s why.
Introducing the new Ford F-150 Shelby Raptor to quench every thirst for truck power and performance. When Shelby chose to take the Raptor and make it even more who could have guessed what they would do to make it so? By adding additional supercharges to the engine and adding handling features that improve the control Shelby has taken its performance car roots and applied them to the best-selling pickup truck around.
On the outside Shelby added a set of side fender heat extractors to not only add to the overall cool look of this truck but help keep your engine cool. These extractors also give the truck which is already full of adrenaline an even more aggressive look to enjoy. To give more of a “cool factor” to the truck Shelby offers three graphics kits; Traditional, Shelby Splash and Super Snake so everyone will know this aren’t just another Raptor.
On the inside the Shelby Raptor is designed for both comfort and performance. The customer interior offers a two-tone leather package that includes contrasting stitching, a dashboard badge that is serial numbered and a sport boost with a fuel pressure gauge all meant to show off an interior that is built for comfort and to give drivers all the information they might desire on this awesome truck. With all these additions in place the inside of the Shelby Raptor is a location most of us would not want to leave for fear it was just a dream and might not be in the driveway for us the next day.
Saving the best for last, Shelby outdid itself with the engine. They added a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger on the 6.2-liter V8 engine along with a new Shelby Stinger exhaust system. These additions bring the horsepower for the Shelby Raptor to 575, up from the 411 on the Raptor. The six-speed automatic transmission is in place to power all four wheels along with an “Off-Road” mode which helps to calibrate the transmission, stability and traction control system to give any driver the best off road experience possible.
It’s safe to say Ford has had a lot of time on its hands to continue to take the F-150 further and further. First to the Raptor and then a step beyond to the Shelby Raptor, surely this is where this truck reaches its peak and offers the performance and comfort desired by any Ford truck lover. The Shelby Raptor makes the perfect truck for off road fun under any and all conditions allowing owners to show off against their buddies who don’t have the benefit of a Shelby designed and inspired truck.
