Typically the title or description of Economy Car brings to mind the thought of a set of hamsters under the hood on bicycles or at least something close to that for power. Normally you think of these cars and shudder wondering what you have to compromise on in order to have a car that will be the commuter mobile for you to drive. While many economy class cars are not powerful and have a negative feeling associated with them it’s important for you to see there are some economy class cars that are actually great to drive; here are some for you to consider.
For years cars have gotten heavier because the new technology installed adds more heft to a vehicle, especially when you add a battery pack to a hybrid. In the past few years many automakers have worked to bring some of these weights down for the purpose of maximizing power and adding more fuel efficiency. You can enjoy more from a car with lower weight from every aspect, more power, more performance and certainly better fuel mileage and automakers can offer you smaller engines to increase the fuel mileage even more. To go along with that when a car is lighter and has turbochargers attached to the engine the horsepower can match higher cylinder numbers with smaller engines, giving us the best of both worlds. For a vast majority of us, we will never drive a car that is our own that has over 200 horsepower. There are a few reasons we are going to be left out of the high-powered class of vehicles. First of all, most of us will certainly scoff at the idea of spending the money on a car that offers a high horsepower number because the shear price tag turns us away. Second is the lack of need, what will this additional horsepower be for and where can we drive it, so with practicality in mind it just doesn’t make sense. Third is fuel mileage. Less power typically equates to better fuel mileage, making it an easy choice between the two as we don’t want to be pumping gas 3-4 times a week for our power hungry V8 beast.
Because of all these reasons doesn’t it make sense to have something fun to drive that falls in our range of driving? Certainly many car manufacturers feel that way and offer several models that are both fun to drive and fall in the under 200 horsepower club to give us the fuel mileage (at least most of them) that we desire. Every year the Super Bowl offers a host of commercials for us to enjoy. Many are meant to entertain us and get us laughing at the antics and creativity that is found in these advertising spots. The Super Bowl Commercials have become so big there is even betting in Vegas regarding what companies will have how many spots along with discussions around many water coolers the next day in offices all over the country as to what commercials were thought to be the best, funniest, sent a great message or were just a lot of fun.
Because the Sorento received major changed for 2014, the 2015 version is only slightly refined from a year ago. Enhancements were made to the chassis, engines and interior to offer a crossover SUV that feels much more luxury than its price tag might suggest. Offered in both seven-passenger and five-passenger configurations, owners can have their Sorento be ready to offer space for a growing family to enjoy or the extra cargo room some owners yearn for. Dealing with stiff competition from the Ford Edge, Dodge Journey, Toyota Highlander and Nissan Pathfinder, the Sorento offers an amazing amount of features for the money to make this great SUV quite a bargain.
The changes made for this new model year include a minor upgrade to the grill and front end, an addition of a navigation system without having to add the UVO system, an Infinity sound system and a more fuel efficient four-cylinder engine. All the additions will help take a great crossover SUV and put it over the top of the competition for the upcoming model year.
