Enhancing the Enhancements in the 2015 Kia Sorento
Because the Sorento received major changed for 2014, the 2015 version is only slightly refined from a year ago. Enhancements were made to the chassis, engines and interior to offer a crossover SUV that feels much more luxury than its price tag might suggest. Offered in both seven-passenger and five-passenger configurations, owners can have their Sorento be ready to offer space for a growing family to enjoy or the extra cargo room some owners yearn for. Dealing with stiff competition from the Ford Edge, Dodge Journey, Toyota Highlander and Nissan Pathfinder, the Sorento offers an amazing amount of features for the money to make this great SUV quite a bargain.
The changes made for this new model year include a minor upgrade to the grill and front end, an addition of a navigation system without having to add the UVO system, an Infinity sound system and a more fuel efficient four-cylinder engine. All the additions will help take a great crossover SUV and put it over the top of the competition for the upcoming model year.
As a bit of a shorter SUV the Sorento offers a more easily maneuvered size and sporty chassis for some serious driving pleasure. With a highly tuned suspension and extremely responsive steering, the Sorento offers a driving experience that is most easily described as fun and relaxing at the same time. Because of the shorter wheelbase the Sorento fits easily into places other SUV’s can’t even fathom and the turning radius makes changing direction or navigating city traffic a breeze. Add to this the ultra-quiet cabin offered from the highly tuned noise-reduction technology aboard the Sorento and this vehicle truly allows owners to enjoy the ride no matter the destination.
This great SUV offers a choice of two engines starting with the standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that brings in 191 horsepower and 181 lb.-ft. of torque. Although not very high on the power scale, this engine is powerful enough to handle all driving conditions and even endure some short jaunts off road when equipped with all-wheel drive. Mated to the six-speed automatic transmission that is manually-selectable the fuel efficiency comes in at 20 city/27 hwy mpg for the front-wheel drive (FWD) models and 19 city/25 hwy mpg for the all-wheel drive (AWD) versions.
Next up is the 3.3-liter V6 that is the real power option of the pair. Coming in with 290 horsepower and 252 lb.-ft. of torque, this engine packs a nice punch and truly handles even some longer and more arduous off road driving. Matched up with the same six-speed automatic transmission the fuel efficiency comes in at 18 city/25 hwy mpg for the FWD model and 18 city/24 hwy mpg for AWD. Because the fuel numbers are actually very similar to the four-cylinder and the price to upgrade to this engine is very small, this is the engine option that is recommended for any Sorento buyer who wants to experience some real driving fun and excitement.
Inside the cabin offers a feeling of a well-equipped and expertly appointed interior that is full of great features to enjoy. Using upgraded materials throughout the inside, Kia offers this vehicle with a feeling of a whole lot more luxury than the price tag would make anyone believe. Small but noticeable touches of brilliance are found everywhere including an LCD speedometer, retractable second row window shades and a panoramic sunroof. The rear seat folds down in a 40/20/40 configuration to offer a variety of cargo configurations as well as reclining to offer even more comfort to passengers.
From the outside the Sorento shows off with great looks and a bit of refinement. The grill actually can be had in two different styles, anodized silver metal, or black mesh to create a more unique look to an already great looking vehicle. Nice lines and curves are found all over the Sorento, but not so much to make it overly showy. Add the LED headlights, folding exterior mirrors, and light up door pockets and even the exterior offers a great feeling of upscale and luxury to it. The Sorento rides on a set of well-designed and multi-spoked wheels that offer the final touch of brawny beauty to the vehicle.
The standard features offered for the Sorento are designed to offer driving enjoyment for any owner and provide them with advanced safety and control features to keep everyone safe. This list includes Bluetooth connectivity, USB connectivity, air conditioning, cruise control, steering wheel mounted controls for the audio system and cruise control, alloy wheels, body-color side mirrors, LED taillights, a full set of airbags, and electronic safety and stability controls. All of this makes the Sorento even at the base model a great vehicle for anyone to own with plenty of great features to enjoy.

Even at the top end this is a very reasonable price for the entire vehicle that is included at that price.
