10.27.16 - 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack

For years the only name you wanted to think about after Jeep when it comes to off road capability has been Subaru. Today that has changed and it changes with a brand and model we’re familiar with, but with a new built that will make a huge difference. This new build and model are the new Volkswagen Golf Alltrack which is a wagon shaped small SUV that’s built off the Golf platform and is shoved into the Golf lineup. While this vehicle may not appear to fit in with the off road capable SUVs, it will give you a huge surprise and let you head off the beaten path whenever you want.

This new Golf Alltrack will be powered by a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that brings in 170 horsepower and 199 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine gets attached to a six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and returns 22 city/30 hwy mpg while coming in at a price of $33,710. When you want a vehicle that offers you the versatility of a hatchback and the space of an SUV or raised up wagon, this is the one to use to get the job done.

What sets this car apart from the rest of the Golf family? Not only is this a wagon build that increases the space, but it offers you seven inches of ground clearance and the benefit of the AWD system you’ll surely love in this car. There is a full 30.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats which increases to 66.5 when the seats are folded down. This is more than the Subaru Crosstrek and even more than the stablemate, the Tiguan, giving you an impressive amount of space to put the cargo you need to take along on any of your adventures.

With all this space behind the second row you might feel like the Alltrack doesn’t have room for people, but it actually offers you as much headroom and legroom as the Tiguan and allows you to enjoy the heated seats up front. To go along with these features you can enjoy a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather upholstery, a rearview camera, alloy wheels, heated mirrors, push button starting, a panoramic sunroof and dual zone climate controls to name a few of the great features.

Moving up to some options you can add adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep and parking assistance systems, a premium audio system, adaptive bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights and automatic high beams to make this car one you want to drive that also has all the features you’d like to be able to enjoy.

Heading out on the trails with this car allows you to enjoy the ABS system, the great traction control, hill descent control and the amazing AWD system that make this Golf one that’s perfect for heading to the camping or fishing spot you’ve been wanting to get to. As you can see this is a new small SUV for the market and one that makes for a great drive wherever you want to go.
