Mazda 3 Shows Off

2015 Mazda 3

The tagline of the Mazda family has been “Zoom Zoom” since early 2000. This slogan embraces the spirit of the Mazda family, inspiring a sense of fun and whimsy that accompanies driving a Mazda. Coupled with the “If It’s Not Worth Driving, It’s Not Worth Building” campaign; Mazda’s advertising efforts firmly cement the brand’s philosophy about their cars. Already a leader in the SUV field, Mazda’s compact models are often overlooked, but don’t be fooled; it’s not because they’re not worthy.

In line with the Ford Focus and the VW Golf, the Mazda 3 falls right into Mazda’s niche market; those looking for a fun car that can perform with efficiency. With a graceful new design that focuses on Mazda’s KODO: Soul of Motion principle, the 2015 Mazda 3 even looks fun to drive. The remodel for 2015 focuses heavily on the grill and headlamps and a newly streamlined roof design that gives the 3 an impressive and imposing new look.

Coupled with Mazda’s unique SKYACTIV technology, the 3 is built for maximum performance and efficiency. With an offering of two different SKYACTIV engine sizes, a 2.0 liter and a 2.5 liter, the Mazda 3 is ready to fulfill every driving need you may have. Speed, power, and torque combined with an incredible gas mileage are all standard on this model.

SKYACTIV promises maximum performance in conjunction with adherence to environmental standards. In an effort to reduce emissions, Mazda patented the SKYACTIV technology for their engines. This revolutionary engine produces more power while using less fuel and putting less emissions into the air. Essentially, it performs like a hybrid car that isn’t. The minimum city mileage for a Mazda 3 is a remarkable 29 mpg on the 2.0 liter engines; impressive by any standard.

Also available in their transmissions; SKYACTIV technology took every exciting and valuable feature of other transmissions and combined them to make theirs better. They added features to make an automatic car have the responsiveness and handling of a manual transmission. In the manual models, they’ve adjusted the internal mechanisms of the shift stroke to provide a powerful draw for discerning manual drivers.

Safety is also an important feature in all Mazda models, and the Mazda 3 is no exception. Featuring six standard airbags including full length side curtains, the 3 offers maximum safety. Another standard safety feature of the Mazda is the Dynamic Stability Control and Traction Control System which senses a skid and allows for correction without sending the driver off-course. Security features include a standard antitheft system that immobilizes the engine in the event of a theft, keyless entry, and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

Each trim level also increases the amount of standard features available on the Mazda 3. In addition to some impressive standard items, Mazda also offers an array of optional items to customize the driving experience. Add-ons include LED illuminated foot space as well as remote start kits.  Optional features also include popular favorites like auto-dimming rearview mirrors, parking sensors, and HomeLink.

Mazda’s Infotainment System brings the Mazda 3 into the future with voice activated control of almost every entertainment feature offered in the vehicle. Syncing your phone to the system allows for hands free calling and texting activated by the sound of your voice. With a quick search on their website, a driver is able to find out beforehand what features of their phone can be accessed with the Infotainment System.

The Infotainment System also allows for voice recognition to control favorite music selections. With the press of a button, a voice command will take the driver to the desired entertainment location in the car. Simply saying “FM Radio” will take the driver to their preset FM stations. The Infotainment System will also allow the storage of favorite stations. This system also allows for the integration of navigation system controls and can save favorite destinations.

With six available levels of trim, eight stunning colors, and both a four and five door model the Mazda 3 offers an incredible variety for every driver. Gone are the days that Mazda is overlooked in the compact car market. The Mazda 3 is ready to be the car of the future.
