Can the Ram Rebel Get Better than Ever?

Can the Ram Rebel Get Better than Ever?

The Ram Rebel is a special edition truck that makes it easy for you to have the power and capability you want on the road and trails.

This is the version of the Ram that’s built to compete with the other special edition models, but it seems this truck is not quite enough for the FCA team. While we don’t have any exact dates for arrival, the Rebel could be in for an upgrade and a pair of models that are even more specialized than the standard Rebel.

What Will the Rebel Become?

Recent photos were captured of what could become a new Ram Rebel called the Rebel TR and Rebel TRX. The Rebel TR is a model that could be powered by the largest of the Hemi engines while the TRX version of the Rebel is expected to be powered by the Hellcat engine that’s found in a few other FCA models. Some might say this is simply another way for FCA to make use of the Hellcat engine once again, but there’s much more to it than that.

Powering the Ram Rebel TR

For those of us who aren’t looking for the supercharged engine, the Rebel TR mule that was spied is powered by a 7.0-liter V8engine. This engine is simply a bored-out version of the 6.4-liter Hemi and it’s called the “Banshee” engine. This new truck will likely offer us 520 horsepower and 525 lb.-ft. of torque and it’s been rumored to be scheduled to make its official debut in 2020. Using this engine we see a full 426 cubic inches as the size for the engine with a bigger bore to get the job done.

The Power for the Ram Rebel TRX

It’s likely we’re going to see the new Ram Rebel TRX arrive before the naturally aspirated version. The TRX model will make full use of the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine which offers you 707 horsepower for the drive. Even though this is the more powerful of the two engines, we want to see both on the market soon and have the choice of more power for the drive. The fact this engine is smaller than the Banshee seems to be a trend for FCA which has been able to offer us more power from smaller engines for several years.

FCA isn’t done with the Rebel Models

There’s a chance we’ll see more than 707 horsepower coming from the Hellcat engine when it arrives under the hood of the Ram Rebel TRX. We’ve seen a supercharged Hemi engine that produces 797 horsepower to give you a ton of power for the drive you want to make on and off the trails. If this much power is offered in this truck, you’ll want to take the Rebel TRX out on the track and see how fast it can make a lap with you behind the wheel.
