Cadillac Gives us an Early Present

by Noah ReynoldsPosted on May 2, 2019

Get ready to meet the newest luxury SUV model in the Cadillac family. The Cadillac XT6 is highly anticipated and for good reason.
If you expected to wait until September or October for the 2020 model year vehicles, you’ll be pleased to know you could be driving your next luxury ride all summer long. The new Cadillac XT6 will be offered later this spring to give you the build and the size you’re looking for. This new SUV offers three rows of seats to fit above the XT5 and below the Escalade in the market and offer you the comfortable luxury that you know you want to enjoy whenever you’re ready to take a drive.

Pricing is Announced for the XT6

This new SUV is going to cost you a little more than $53,000 to have the base model which is called the Premium Luxury trim. This trim is offered with FWD but you can add AWD as an option and increase the price. The new XT6 has a lot in common with its smaller, more established SUV sibling, the Cadillac XT5. The XT6, however, gives you more room for more passengers and cargo. The only engine offered for this SUV is a 3.6-liter V6 that will produce 310 horsepower and 271 lb.-ft. of torque while being attached to the nine-speed automatic transmission. Above the Premium Luxury trim is an XT6 Sport model which will come standard with AWD and will start at a price that’s a little above $58,000.

Differences in these Cadillac Trims

The Premium Luxury trim is being offered with more chrome and wood while the Sport trim will have blacked-out trim in place of the chrome and carbon where the Premium Luxury model offers wood. The wheel designs are different between the two trim levels as well. The Premium Luxury model has red taillights and the Sport model has clear lights in the rear. The Sport trim also rides on continuously adjustable shock absorbers to give you the ride you’re looking for when you take this model out for a more engaging drive.

Similarities for the XT6 Trims

Both of the trim levels for the new Cadillac XT6 will have seven airbags, an HD rear camera, forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, front and rear parking assist, lane change alert, blind spot alert, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, and rear cross traffic alerts. The lighting you’ll find gives you LEDs in the front and rear as well as in the cabin. You’ll find a heated steering wheel, a power folding third-row of seats and a remotely folding second-row seat. The seven-passenger seating is standard but you can have optional six-passenger seating with the use of a pair of captain’s chairs in the middle row.

Adding More to the Cadillac XT6

You can add the Enhanced Visibility and Technology Package and have the benefits of an eight-inch gauge cluster display and a head-up display. You’ll also have an HD surround vision with recording camera and automatic parking assist with braking with this package. The Driver Assist package adds adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic emergency braking with night vision. You’ll love the wireless phone charging, connectivity features, and the Wi-Fi hotspot that are all part of what you receive when you drive the Cadillac XT6.
