FCA Answers the Call to Fight Against COVID-19

To assist in the fight against COVID-19, FCA stepped up to the plate to begin to make masks to help some of the hardest-hit areas in the world.

With COVID-19 upon us and more positive cases being found every day, there is a greater need than ever for a variety of supplies that need to be used to treat and care for people who are showing up at the hospitals with positive test results.

The supplies that seem to be the most needed for the hospital staff around the country are masks and other personal protective equipment that can protect healthcare workers from contracting this virus. With that in mind, companies that were previously making other items will now be making the equipment needed that’s now in short supply.

FCA is Helping Out

One of the automakers in the industry that has reached in Italy, one of the hardest-hit countries, and in the US, which is currently a country where more cases are becoming positive every day, is FCA. This company is the parent brand of Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Ram, and a few others that you know well.

Instead of making more cars, FCA has committed to making some of the face masks that are needed to aid in the recovery and curing efforts going on around the world right now.

Where Will the FCA Masks Go?

Even though some of the general public feel they need to have face masks to protect themselves against the COVID-19 pandemic, the reality is, police, firefighters, EMTs, and hospital workers are more in danger than any other group of people in the world.

These professionals are called upon to respond in a crisis and make sure people can be safe, but they also need to be protected from this virus that spreading. The masks being made by FCA will be earmarked for these front line workers who are most in danger of being infected if not properly protected.

Quarantine Doesn’t Work for Everyone

Even though the majority of us have been in quarantine for a few days or a few weeks, there are still some people that need to be able to go to work every day. We depend on those that will respond in the face of an emergency, will put themselves in harm’s way, and will help us when we can’t help ourselves.

If these people aren’t protected, we won’t have anyone to depend on when the emergency hits home. In the face of the coronavirus, it’s more important than ever to make sure these people are protected.

Because FCA makes its home in Italy and in the US, there will be masks made by FCA that will be sent to both nations to help the emergency responders stay protected. The shortage of PPE makes it difficult for emergency responders to feel confident and secure when they need to focus on the healthcare of others.
