The Hyundai Elantra starts with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 147 horsepower which is pushed through a CVT as well. Both cars have upgraded powertrains at various trims that could give you the power you’re looking for.

If you move even farther up the lineup, you’ll find a hands-free power trunk, which is something the Toyota Corolla doesn’t offer.
Starting with the base Toyota Corolla L model, you find Apple CarPlay and a seven-inch screen right away. Unfortunately, the Corolla doesn’t support Android Auto, which is a negative for this excellent compact sedan. Move to the XLE model and you have wireless smartphone charging and a nine-speaker audio system to give you the sounds you’re looking for. You’ll find more trims and features in the Corolla that could make this car feel like a luxury ride.
