The base engine for this SUV is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that uses an eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain is offered on the LX and S models and it gives you 191 horsepower and 181 lb.-ft. of torque. The rest of the trims currently use a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 281 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque. The new hybrid models will come later to give us the most efficient power for the Sorento.
