How Chevy is Supporting the American Cancer Society in October 2021
While most people see fall as a time to get ready for bonfires, football games, and Halloween, your local Chevy dealership is gearing up to help support the American Cancer Society. The Chevrolet Motor Company has a decade-old legacy of giving back to the community. 2022 marks the 11th year that Chevy works to support this fantastic organization.
During the month of October, Chevrolet will donate $350 per lap lead under caution by a specialized Chevy Camaro ZL1 during three different NASCAR races. This pink and white Camaro is part of the Making Stride Against Breast Cancer campaign and is a sight to see.
Where Can I See This Unique Camaro?
Unfortunately, the special Camaro won’t be available at a Chevy dealership near you any time soon. You can still see it in person or on TV this month.
- October 3rd at the Talladega Superspeedway
- October 17th at the Texas Motor Speedway
- October 31st at the Martinsville Speedway
How Much Is Chevy Donating?
Chevy is going to make a $350 donation for every lap the Camaro ZL1 makes as a pace car at each race up to a maximum of $50,000.
In October, Chevy will also make a $5 donation for every post made on TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter that uses the hashtag #WeDriveFor. This donation tops out at $110,000.
This event isn’t the only way that Chevrolet contributes to the American Cancer Society. In 2020, everyone from your local Chevy dealership to employees to customers contributed $1.2 million. Chevy has helped raise over $15 million in the last decade alone.
How Can I Participate?
The first thing everyone can do to take part in October’s event is to spread the word. Use the hashtag #WeDriveFor on all of your social media platforms and encourage others to do the same. This will ensure that Chevy maxes out its pledge this month.
You can also shop for unique products meant to help raise awareness of money to help fund research and fight cancer. You can buy everything from hooded sweatshirts to stylish umbrellas at the GM Company Store.
You can also donate directly to the American Cancer Society. Every little bit helps.
Support Is Out There
