Cadillac Project GTP Hypercar
The Cadillac Project GTP Hypercar doesn’t look at all like your typical Cadillac. This incredible car is a true racer that will debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans next year.
This new hypercar is ready to take on this amazing endurance rage and it will be part of the 2023 IMSA series and World Endurance Championship. Cadillac has been part of this racing series for a while but this new machine delivers far more stylized bodywork than the predecessor with its sharp angles and vertical lighting, taking some cues from the road cars.
The Pressure is On for Cadillac to do Better
A new list of racing regulations for endurance racing bring new manufacturers to the mix for the 2023 race. Companies including BMW, Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini will join the race next year. Cadillac has been in the IMSA club since 2017 and has some amazing results. The DPi-RV.R racer has 24 wins in 50 races so far. This new model offers the next-generation of racing and its called the Project GTP Hypercar that will arrive next year for the race that will last a full day.

This amazing project delivers the performance desired for some serious fun. This car is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 engine and a standard hybrid system which is part of the new regulations from IMSA. This new build makes it possible for this amazing racing machine to handle the ride around the track that could bring out another win for the Cadillac team. The only question is whether or not this car will have enough power to beat some of these newcomers.
New Dimensions, New Angles, and a New Build
The is brand-new Cadillac racer brings the sharp edges, aggressive stance, and amazing aerodynamics needed to give this car the on-track performance desired. This new car is much wider than the current DPi models and it shows off with much more Cadillac style that ensure you can’t mistake the brand name as it zooms past you on the track. While the lighting signatures come from the road cars a lot is different as well. This racing machine has a forged carbon fiber build in the front splitter, side sills, engine cover, and rear diffuser. There’s a see-through fin that extends from the cabin to give this car a specialized appearance. We won’t know until the racing happens whether or not this car comes as its project build or if it will offer a look that is different from what this project car offers.
Which Wheels Receive the Power?
The power numbers haven’t been released yet, but all of it is sent to the rear wheels giving this car the speed and performance that could lead to many more victories. Its pretty incredible that Cadillac has won as many races so far as they have in this racing series. On-track testing stats this summer with the first race being the 2023 24 Hours of Daytona next year. Cadillac brings this incredible new car to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the World Endurance Championship.
